Darlene Cavalier is a Philadelphia NBA alumni dancer who founded the Science Cheerleader to unite the citizen’s desire to be heard and valued, the scientist’s growing interest in the public’s involvement, and government’s need to garner public support. ABOUT THE CHOREOGRAPHERS 

Ashley Worrell-Mitchell has been dancing since the age of 3. Ashley is a native of Kansas City and a graduate of Missouri Western State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management with an emphasis in Commercial/Private Business. While at MWSU, Ashley was a 4-year member of the Golden Girls/Mystics Dance Team, serving as Co-Captain her freshman & sophomore years and Captain her junior & senior years. After college, she received  training with Planet Funk Entertainment and Dallas Powerhouse of Dance. She performed in the Planet Funk II Choreography video "Spread da Funk" and also had the privilege of being in four ProDance Choreography Videos (2002, 2003, 2007, 2010). Ashley has been a dancer for professional teams including the NBA Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs, as well as the NFL Kansas City Chiefs. She was also on the dance team for the Kansas City Brigade (AFL). She was the owner of DanceWorks Conservatory and DanceWear Express for several years. Her recent accomplishment is publishing her book Half-Time Highlights: A Guide to Dancing in the NBA/NFL. Ashley now resides near Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a Style Pro for Angela King Designs - Go Wild! Wear performance wear.  

Maya Hayes resides in Dallas. Maya's professional dance experience includes positions with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the NBA Dallas Mavericks. She also became a Luvabull dancer for the NBA Chicago Bulls. Maya has performed all over the world supporting U.S. troops as well as dancing with Bobby Rush, James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, Ludacris, Mya, and Jessica Simpson. Maya operates Starfire Productions, the coordinating group for the MLB AA Braves Diamond Dancers in Mississippi. Maya is the founder and former director of the Jackson State University Lady Dazzlers dance team and founder of The Starlight Dancer Company in her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi, teaching dance to urban and inner city youth. Maya is the former Director of the Cary Ballet Conservatory's Jazz Dance training program and performing company in North Carolina. Currently Maya is a candidate for the 2012 AKD Sports Model Contest and teaches performance classes in Dallas.
